This position will work, on average, 12 hours per week during the school year and 20 hours per week during summer break, depending on school schedule and library needs. May report to different work locations during the day. MUST have a reliable means of transportation. This is a temporary position which will end upon graduation from High School.

Position Summary Austin Peay State University invites applications for a Resource Management Librarian at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, 12-month tenure-track faculty position reporting to the Director of Library Services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising operations of the Resource Management unit, consisting of acquisitions, cataloging, serials, government publications, and interlibrary loan. The incumbent will also provide instruction, reference, and liaison services, and will supervise two full-time support staff and a student assistant.

For the fifth consecutive year, Austin Peay State University was named a Great College to Work For by The Chronicle of Higher Education. The picturesque campus is located in Middle Tennessee near the confluence of the Cumberland and Red Rivers, 50 miles northwest of
Nashville.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities – Perform and/or supervise acquisition of materials, original and copy cataloging, authority control, and online catalog database maintenance. Maintain quality control of bibliographic, authority, and item records in the online catalog.
– Oversee interlibrary loan functions and serials and government publications acquisitions and control.
– Supervise and evaluate unit staff and determine workflow assignments and priorities.
– Provide leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring of acquisitions and collection development policies and protocols. Develop effective procedures to facilitate collection development activities and collection assessment.
– Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the library materials budget.
– Develop and maintain relations with information resource vendors, and monitor and assess vendor performance.
– Serve as liaison to assigned academic departments, providing instruction, outreach, and collection development services.
– Teach information literacy instruction sessions for the freshman experience course and in liaison areas.
– Perform all aspects of traditional and electronic reference services, and work occasional evening and weekend shifts on a rotational basis.

– Complete scholarly/creative projects and professional service activities required of faculty for tenure and promotion.
